Our Story
Who We Are
Sextant Air Group isn't run by salespeople. It's run by people who have spent their careers doing this work — flying the aircraft, managing the fleets, running the FBOs, and handling the paperwork the FAA actually cares about.
Noah Grundvig has managed private aircraft for nearly twenty years. He flew Part 135 charter himself, spent over a decade running a Part 135 operation, and has managed FBOs along the way — so he understands an owner's airplane from the cockpit, the hangar, and the budget, not just the sales sheet. Some of his clients have been with him for more than ten years, which says more about how we work than any line on a website could.
His partner, Jay Mercer, is an airline captain and a career operator: he's been a chief pilot, has owned a Part 135 company, and today owns both a maintenance company and an FBO. Together they've written and earned FAA approval for Part 135 operating manuals — the kind of deep regulatory work most management firms outsource or avoid entirely.
That's the whole idea behind Sextant: people who've sat in every seat in this business, who take the time to understand how you actually fly before recommending anything, and who stay with you for the long haul.

How We Work
We bring the depth of a large aviation firm without the overhead, the bureaucracy, or the impersonal service. You get senior-level attention on every engagement.
No hidden agendas, no undisclosed relationships. We tell you what we know, what we recommend, and why — so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
Every aircraft owner and operator has different needs. We take the time to understand yours before we ever make a recommendation.
We measure success by the quality of the relationships we build, not the number of transactions we close. Our clients come back because we earn it.
Our Credentials
We've authored and earned FAA approval for Part 135 operating manuals — backed by certificated airline and commercial pilots.
Decades of hands-on expertise across aircraft management, acquisitions, and operations
Trusted relationships with maintenance providers, FBOs, and aviation professionals coast to coast
We work for you — not for manufacturers, dealers, or operators — so our guidance is always in your interest
